Building a healthier community, one kilometre at a time!

This year, people from all over Quebec will be getting in shape in a more meaningful way. We are running marathons, climbing mountains, swimming laps and doing countless other activities – and every kilometre we travel is dedicated to The Children’s!

It’s easy to take part in One million kilometres, one million dollars. Set a goal, track your kilometres, and then ask friends and family to support you by making a donation to The Children’s. And because being active is the bottom line, there’s no minimum to participate. What are you waiting for? Let’s get moving!

Raising funds today for a better Children’s tomorrow

The funds you are raising for the One million kilometres, one million dollars project have been earmarked to build the Family Resource Centre in the new Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Kilimanjaro for The Children's 2012

Sponsored by The North Face (Canada), twelve intrepid trekkers have been training for months in preparation for this two-week adventure that will take them from the lush rainforests of Kilimanjaro National Park, to the rocky crags of the Barranco Wall, to the snow capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. If you would like to support their efforts by making a donation to help our young patients climb mountains of their own, please visit the Kilimanjaro for The Children’s 2012 fundraising page.

Support Émilie and Toni. True Children's champions.

If you’re not ready to get moving but you’d like to make a gift, consider pledging your support to Toni and Émilie. These two courageous girls know better than anyone how important health is. Help them make a difference by making a gift today.

Émilie, 10 years old. Émilie was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in June of 2009. The news was devastating, but her parents and two older siblings banded together to support their "ray of sunshine" as she went through many long months of chemotherapy. Today, Émilie is in the maintenance phase of her treatment, and her family is hopeful that this will be the end of her ordeal. We thank Émilie for sharing her story and her bright outlook with us - with her help, we know we can go far!

Toni, 12 years old. In February 2009, Toni broke her leg after a schoolyard fall. When the cast came off, she knew something was wrong. Toni was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (a malignant bone tumour) of the left tibia. This spring, Toni bravely faced the reality that an amputation would be necessary. Toni and her family faced this ordeal with determination and the conviction that she would recover. She is now recovering from surgery, and looking forward to learning to use her prosthesis. One million kilometres starts with a single step, and we are grateful to Toni for leading the way.
